Account Registration for Jamaica

Before downloading FxPro MetaTrader 4, set up a live or demo account. Go to the FxPro website and select Jamaica as your country. Add your residential address – Kingston, Portmore, Spanish Town, or wherever you are located. Fill in employment status, estimated income, net worth, and expected deposit range. These fields are required under FxPro’s onboarding process.

Verification Documents

Upload three items to complete verification. First, a government-issued photo ID – a Jamaican passport or national ID card works. Second, proof of residence dated within the last six months – a utility bill or bank statement from a local institution. Third, a liveness selfie taken through the platform’s verification flow.

Approval typically takes 24 to 48 hours. FxPro sends your MT4 login credentials and server details by email once approved.

Download and Installation

Desktop – Windows

Download the installer from the FxPro Download Centre. Log in to FxPro Direct, go to Quick Access, then Download Centre, and select FxPro MetaTrader 4. Alternatively, navigate to All Tools on the main site, then Download Centre, and choose the Windows version.

The installer file is approximately 50MB. Your system must run Windows 7 or later. Right-click the downloaded .exe file and select Run as Administrator. Accept the license terms and let the installation complete – it takes two to three minutes.

After launch, a server selection dialog appears. Type FxPro-MT4Live01 or FxPro-MT4Live02 in the search field. Select the correct server, enter your login number and password from the verification email, and click OK.

Desktop – Mac

There is no native MT4 installer for macOS. Mac users access FxPro MetaTrader 4 through the WebTrader in any browser, or through the iOS mobile app. Both options provide full account access and charting.

Mobile – Android

Install the FxPro app from Google Play. The app requires Android 5.0 or later. Once installed, log in with the same credentials used on desktop. The app supports MT4 and MT5 accounts, displays real-time quotes, includes 30 indicators, covers 9 timeframes, and delivers push notifications for price alerts and order events. Mobile – iOS

Download the MetaTrader 4 app from the App Store. It requires iOS 12.0 or later (iPhone 6s equivalent or newer). Log in with your FxPro credentials. The iOS app syncs with the desktop platform, so open positions and pending orders appear across devices.

WebTrader

No installation is required. Open any browser and go to the FxPro MT4 page. The WebTrader loads the full platform interface, including chart history, one-click trading, and support for 37 languages. It is the most practical option for Mac users or traders on shared computers.

Connecting Your FxPro Account to MT4

After installation, open MT4 on desktop. Go to File in the top menu, then Login to Trade Account. Enter your account number (the login ID from the FxPro email), your password, and select the correct server from the dropdown.

If the server does not appear automatically, type FxPro in the search field. Both FxPro-MT4Live01 and FxPro-MT4Live02 will appear. Select the one specified in your credentials email. The platform auto-adjusts for Jamaica Standard Time.

A green connection indicator appears in the bottom-right corner of the MT4 interface when login succeeds. A grey or red indicator means the connection failed – check your server selection and credentials first.

Enable automated trading by going to Tools, then Options, then Expert Advisors. Tick Allow automated trading and Allow live trading. The AutoTrading button in the toolbar must show green. If the chart displays a sad face icon, the EA is not active – click the AutoTrading button to resolve this.

The Strategy Tester allows backtesting with up to 10 years of tick data. It includes genetic optimization to refine EA parameters. Accuracy reaches 99.9% with full tick data enabled.

Trading Instruments on MT4

Both platforms are available on FxPro. The choice depends on what you trade and whether you use automated strategies.

If your strategy uses MQL4 EAs already built and tested, stay on MT4. If you trade stock CFDs heavily or want faster multi-asset backtesting, MT5 is the more capable option. FxPro supports both, so switching between them does not require a new account.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Use this checklist when something goes wrong.

• Connection fails on login: Verify the server name is FxPro-MT4Live01 or FxPro-MT4Live02. Check that the account number is correct – it is a numeric ID, not your email address.
• Charts not loading: Right-click the chart and select Refresh. If history is missing, go to Tools, then History Center, select the pair and timeframe, and click Download.
• EA not executing trades: Check that AutoTrading is enabled (green button in toolbar). Open Tools, Options, Expert Advisors, and confirm Allow automated trading is ticked. Also check the EA’s own properties for Allow live trading.
• Sad face icon on chart: The EA is disabled. Click the AutoTrading button in the main toolbar to activate it.
• Spread appears wider than expected: Spreads widen during low-liquidity periods – before the London open (around 7:00 AM UTC) and after the New York close. Check the spread column in Market Watch for current values.
• Order rejected with “not enough money”: Your free margin is below the required margin for the lot size. Reduce lot size or deposit additional funds.
• Platform shows wrong time: MT4 displays server time, not local Jamaica time. Jamaica Standard Time (JST) is UTC-5. Adjust your chart session labels accordingly.
